A rematch between two light-heavyweight Muay-Thai specialists is expected for the UFC's third show on FX.
After first meeting at UFC 125, Thiago Silva (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and Brandon Vera (12-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) will once again meet in May, according to UFC brass.
In their first meeting, Silva picked up a unanimous-decision victory. However, after falsifying his post-fight urine test for banned substances, Silva was suspended for a year and fined over $30,000. In addition, the win was ruled a "no contest."
Vera, meanwhile, was released from the UFC following the loss which was his third straight following losses to Randy Couture and Jon Jones. However, after the Silva ruling, Vera was brought back to the UFC.
While Silva sat on the sidelines, Vera returned to action against Eliot Marshall; where he picked up a decision victory. Since the win, Vera has verbally called out Silva and took to Twitter to ask for a rematch.
Vera's wish will be granted on May 15 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. Although not confirmed, the main card will likely air live on FX. No headliner has been confirmed for the event.
